Product Introduction
The quantitative sampler is a precision circular specimen cutter designed and produced in accordance with the QB/T 1671 national and industry standard. It is primarily used for cutting specimens for grammage measurement of paper and paperboard, working in conjunction with an electronic balance. The cutting area is 100 cm², with cutting thickness covering single/multi-layer paper from 0.1-3.0 mm and single-layer paperboard<0.6 mm, with a cutting accuracy of ±0.35%. The blade is made from special No. 10 steel with high-temperature quenching, featuring a wave-shaped design to reduce cutting pressure. The main body uses a one-piece cast iron structure to fully ensure dimensional stability. The innovative pressing cap design effectively flattens specimens and reduces sampling error.
Key Features
Standard Compliance: Strictly designed and manufactured per QB/T 1671, with a cutting area of 100 cm², meeting standard sampling requirements for paper and paperboard grammage testing.
High-Precision Cutting: Cutting accuracy of ±0.35% ensures specimen area consistency, eliminating a key source of error in grammage testing from the sampling stage.
One-Piece Cast Iron Structure: The main body is manufactured using an integral casting process, providing robust stability and ensuring long-term dimensional consistency and operational reliability.
Special Steel Wave Blade: The blade is made from special No. 10 steel with high-temperature quenching. The wave-shaped design reduces instantaneous cutting impact pressure, making operation effortless while extending blade service life.
Pressing Cap Design: The innovative pressing cap design flattens the specimen before cutting, preventing area deviations caused by paper wrinkling or curling.

FAQ
1. Press lever stiff, hard to press down
Blunt blade, debris jamming, dry lever/bearing, sample too thick, or uneven base. Clean blade and slideway of paper debris; check sample thickness within limits; apply a small amount of lubricant to fulcrum; sharpen or replace blade if blunt.
2. Incomplete cut, fuzzy or torn edges
Blunt/nicked blade, excessive blade gap, sample not flat, or uneven force. Clean blade and check for rolling or chipping; adjust blade gap (0.02-0.03 mm); lay sample flat and centered; press lever fully down in one motion.
3. Cut round specimen stuck in die, won't release
Dirty blade, deformed/rusted die, static on sample, or paper clogging slideway. Clean inside die and slideway; wipe die inner wall with soft cloth to remove oil and static; tap base or lever to assist release; replace die if deformed.
4. Inaccurate sampling area, grammage deviation
Blunt blade, incorrect gap, stretched sample, uneven base, or lever not fully pressed. Ensure sharp blade and proper gap; lay sample flat without pulling; place base level and stable; press lever fully; periodically calibrate area with standard disc.
5. Lever not returning or returning slowly/sticking
Fatigued/broken spring, dry fulcrum, debris jamming, or bent guide shaft. Clean lever, fulcrum, and guide shaft; lubricate fulcrum; check return spring and replace if weak; report bent guide shaft for repair.
6. Pneumatic model: foot valve no response or weak
Insufficient air pressure (0.3-0.5 MPa required), leaking/blocked air hose, faulty solenoid valve, or cylinder sticking. Check air supply pressure and hoses; listen for solenoid valve clicking when pedal pressed; clean and lightly lubricate cylinder; report for repair if still unresponsive.
7. Machine shaking, tilting when pressing
Unfixed/uneven base, unstable workbench, or loose support beam. Place on flat, solid surface and secure base if needed; hold support beam with one hand while pressing; tighten support beam and fixing screws.
8. Blade rusting or blackening
Humidity, prolonged lack of cleaning, or wet samples. Wipe with anhydrous alcohol and soft cloth; apply thin anti-rust oil after drying; store with paper between blades when not in use for extended periods.

The quantitative sampler is the most fundamental sample preparation device for physical property testing of paper and board. Its function is to accurately cut circular specimens of a specified area from the test sample for basis weight (grammage) determination. According to the QB/T 1671 standard, the standard specimen area is 100 cm², and the accuracy of the specimen area directly affects the accuracy of the basis weight calculation. The wave-shaped blade design allows progressive penetration into the fiber layer at the moment of cutting, requiring less pressure and producing a cleaner cut compared to straight blades. The integrally cast body ensures no deformation under repeated impact cutting, maintaining long-term sampling area accuracy. In addition to basis weight testing, the cut specimens can also be used as standard samples for other physical property tests such as burst strength, folding endurance, and air permeability.
